Martin
Novell is a practicing psychotherapist in West Los Angeles.
From experience, Martin understands what life is like in the
LA creative community. As an actor, he studied with Jeff Corey,
Lee Strasberg, Rudy Solari and Guy Stockwell. He was a member
of SAG. In addition, Martin's photography is featured in
the book The Illustrated Method for Flute by Sheridon
Stokes. Working experience as an actor and photographer helped
Martin earn practical insight regarding the emotional, intellectual,
social, and economic issues faced by actors, writers, artists,
musicians, and other creative professionals in the LA area.

with Helping Teens Overcome Obstacles
Moreover,
Martin Novell is a therapist who understands and wants to
make a difference with adolescents. For the past seventeen
years he has helped local teens overcome educational and truancy
problems. He has extensive experience helping those who have
been emotionally and/or sexually abused. As a crisis therapist
at the Penny Lane residential center, he was successful in
helping extremely disturbed adolescents develop constructive
coping skills and a better sense of self. In private practice,
Martin helps adults and teenagers to make significant, positive,
and timely changes in their lives.

Martin is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, MFC34918.
He also holds a Pupil Personnel Services Credential from the
State of California. His affiliations include being a Clinical
Member of the California Association of Marriage and Family
Therapists and is also a board member of the Group Psychotherapy
Association of Southern California.

Experience with Schools and Counseling Centers
Organizations
Martin Novell has worked with include the Los Angeles Unified
School District, the Southern California Counseling Center,
and Penny Lane. Awards from the LA Unified School District
include a Meritorious Service Award and a Certificate of Achievement
as a Certified Counselor Leader. For the LAUSD, Martin developed
the popular guidance booklet "Helping Your Child."
